thank goodness for the kids, with their help we managed to get the three bush cords of wood stacked. I hope there is enough wood to last us through the winter? The wood pile is pretty close to the patio doors, which isn't that far away.
Dh and ds cleared the rest of the insulation out of the attic. There was a mouse nest in the insulation, with baby mice in there, which of course are now dead. We set a couple of traps and caught the mother mouse within a couple of hours. A harsh attitude I know but I don't want mice all over the house.

i would put a path / stepping stones / deck from the wood store to the patio doors as come back end that grass will turn into a well trodden swamp

That's quite a wood pile. Hope you aren't too stiff and sore to move around today.
You are going to have some very cosy nights when it's all cold and yuck outside and you have the fire going inside. Should be deliciously toasty!
